Race
history:
The City of Chula Vista has hosted
the USATF 30km Racewalk Championship twice before, in 2004 and 2005.
The course has also been used for the 2002 USATF 50km Racewalk Nationals
and the 2004 US Olympic Team Trials 50km Racewalk. Olympians, Olympic
hopefuls, and national-class competitors of all ages and from all over
the United States will come to Chula Vista to compete in the race. In
2006, for the first time, there will be a non-competitive People’s
Walk 5km held in conjunction with the championship race. The South Bay
community is invited to cheer on the Olympic hopefuls and enjoy a healthy
walk in Chula Vista's scenic marina parks.
